unheared band "9 Matahari (Nine Suns)"

According to the up-and-coming band who call themselves 9 Matahari (Nine Suns in English), not everything can go exactly as planned. For Yogie (guitar and keyboard), Endra (vocalist), Fajar (bass), and Bojo (drummer), their first album was actually quite far from what they were expecting. Endra said, ìWhen it came to the mixing part, we didnít quite find the sound that we wanted, but itís okay, I mean what more can we do?îIs it because Andre -- Stinky's frontman -- was the producer? ìNo, Andre never told us what to do with the music stuff, he left that to us. He just took care of the technical aspects, but we did protest about the finished product of the tracks as they were not the kind of rock sound we wanted,î explained Endra adding that he hoped their next album would be a different story, more of what they envisioned the band to be.Endra and gang were slightly happier with the music video of their first single, ìGadis Seperti Dirimu.î Portobello -- the production house responsible for making thevideo -- offered them the concept similar to REMís ìImitation Of Life.î"The picture was great, but we didnít find the storyline and everything else that was supposed to be there."Then again, the band felt that they are fortunate to have the chance of recording an album, so rock fans out there, prepare yourself to be dazzled by the these suns!

This philosophy, placed in the context of hardcore music, is what made Refused so unique. Complex rhythms, hardcore rage, political activism and a dose of experimental sonic confusion all smashed together to create a seamless ball of energy.

Refused set themselves apart by fuelling their collective creativity with the tension that is inherent in the band environment. With five creative forces using the whole to satisfy each of their own creative desires, there is potential for failure here. Fortunately, there was enough unity in the vision to turn tension into energy.
We made this album wanting to challenge peoples preconceptions of what a Punk band could be and what it could play, because Punk is the most conservative musical form there is. Even in Hardcore, there are so many rules about what is and what is not acceptable, and that completely negates the whole spirit of the original idea.

Lyrically speaking, Refused delves heavily into the political arena. Their Anarchist stance becomes clear in The Deadly Rhythm, when they ask,

Is it our duty to die for governments and for gods? / Is it our privilege to slave for market and industry? / Is it our right to follow laws set to scare and oppress? / Is it our gift to stay in line and will it take away the blame? / We can no longer pay the price / We'll get organized / We will no longer believe that working for you will set us free.

Stretching beyond the political arena and into the area of personal motivation, they attempt to light a fire under your ass in Summer Holidays vs. Punk Routine by saying, We're all tired of dying / So sick of not trying / Scared that we might fail / We'll accomplish nothing / Not even failure.

"OLiVE TreE..." u'll like this song abis"

It was September 2003 when Kiki (Songwriter/Pianist) asked Bez (Drums) and the other starting members to form a band named Olive Tree, later on, the other starting members decided to leave the band and replaced by Iman (Bass) and Teezar (Guitar) which become the original member of Olive Trees later performances. The very first public performance of the band was in March 2004, five months after it was formed. In their first two years of struggle, The unique musical characters of the band rapidly catch everybodys attention in their every performances. With no other band to compare in their genre (which is a hybrid from classical pop piano, unique vocal character, powerful drum beats, catchy bass tunes and rock guitars) the somehow gloomy but funny band becomes a stand alone benchmark in Bandungs independent music scene. The rock love song and March of the lonely nights are two olive tree demo tracks released by the bands for radio play (the second track also appears on the demo cassette supplied by Ripple Magazine), and become number one indie track on two separate big radio stations in Bandung from October to November 2004. The next demo track Miss you used for late night radio program for their background music illustration. Still looking for the right recording label to sign, in February 2006 Olive Tree released their first commercial single Winter Holiday under Jakartas join recording labels: Parc & Kenanga records in their compilation album: Riot The Thursday Riot Compilation in which features 17 old & upcoming Indie artists from independent music scene allover Indonesia. This track was self-recorded along with other 13 tracks expected to appears on their highly anticipated upcoming full-length album sometime in 2006.

everybody loves irene

EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE was born in 1998. It all started with a band named Gooton, consisting Yudhi Arfani (guitar), Dimas Anindityo (bass), and Mulyadi Triharsono (drum) when they were only in junior high school! All three grew to become friends in the same scene that popped up several britpops gigs, popular in Jakarta at that time. However, the band went without permanent vocalist.
After some time, in 2001 the boys met Irene Yohanna, a girl with remarkable voice. Her voice trully made a break. All the boys loved it. Even more, everybody loves Irene! This in fact is the exact sentence that became the name of the band EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE. She soon became the main icon of this band.
With spare-backing tracks and emotional yet wrenching vocal, EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE play music for times when ecstasy wears off and the tingle becomes a chill. It's a dance noir for those too world-weary to move.
Their music quality got even more enriched when Aulia Naratama (synthetizer) and Nurendro Siwiaji (keyboard) joined the band. This is the last, perfect and solid format for the band to produce new, great songs like Memento Mori, Gravity Always Win, Try Try Try, The Lullaby Show, and the list goes on.
EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE's music might sound like seen as a really unhappy world. On its creative process, it admits that it is mostly inspired by some talented musicians like Emiliana Torrini, Goldfrapp, Air, Mono, Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, Anjali, Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Sigur Ros, The Smiths, Bloc Party, and some other great musicians that cannot be mentioned one by one.
This would make them an eclectic indie-pop band with lot of organic trip-hop influences that touches a view element of multi-layered electronica sounds. It will reveal such dark ambience when these young acts is started to perform their non-standard songwriting. EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE has created lunatic fans among the music lovers, regarding the quantity of presenting themselves in some local events that they have participated.
Among these times, EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE has already independently released a highly-appreciated EP entitled, Uncertainty, Anxiety, and All the Sorrow in this World as their first musical journey in September 2004. They also has participated in some local compilation album, including a nation-wide movie original soundtrack. Right now theyre still looking for label to release their first full-length album materials entitled, The Very First Thing You Must Learn About Flying Is Gravity.
Another thing that we can say is that if you're making out at home or pining home alone, EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE is the most appropriate one to leisure.

CHERRY BOMBSHELL

CHERRY BOMBSHELL Cherry Bombshell adalah nama dari grup sebuah band anak muda yang berasal dari Bandung, yang banyak orang bilang sebagai gudangnya para musisi. Cherry Bombshell sepakat didirikan oleh 4 anak muda Bandung yang berselera musik sama pada tahun 1995, tepatnya tanggal 15 Juni. Nama Cherry Bombshell diambil dari jenis warna cat rambut, yang secara tak sengaja mereka baca dari majalah Seventeen, yang sedang membahas warna cat rambut idola mereka yaitu vokalis kelompok Lush asal Inggris yang berambut merah, istilahnya Cherry Bombshell. Dengan nama Cherry Bombshell keempat personelnya yaitu Agung Pramudya Wijaya (bass), Harry Hidayatullah (gitar), Ismail Rahaji (gitar), dan Mochammad Febry Syarif (drum) coba-coba membawakan lagu Lush, Pale Saint, Velocity Girl, dan Revolver (semuanya band Inggris). Mereka juga coba-coba untuk membuat lagu. Setelah jalan beberapa lama, Cherry Bombshell bertemu dengan sang penyanyi, yaitu Alexandra (Alex). Dengan adanya Alex, lengkap sudah formasi Cherry Bombshell. Mereka lalu merekam lagu-lagu yang telah dibuat. Untuk pertama kalinya Cherry Bombshell show di Jakarta dan telah berani membawakan lagu-lagunya sendiri (dulu nama grupnya masih Lolypop). Dari hasil show dan tambahan dana seadanya, Cherry Bombshell bertekad membuat demo tape (mini album) yang berisi 6 buah lagu. Cherry Bombshell langsung memasarkannya dari tangan ke tangan dan dan menitip jual di beberapa studio musik dan habis terjual diatas 500 buah kaset. Dengan keluarnya demo tape tersebut, nama dan lagu Cherry Bombshell mulai dikenal sampai keluar kota Bandung. Dengan bekal demo tape tersebut, jalan menuju dapur rekaman untuk membuat album semakin terbuka. Melalui sebuah agen (Target Pro), Cherry Bombshell berkenalan dengan Bulletin Record (PT. Indosemar Sakti). Dengan Bulletin Cherry Bombshell membuat perjanjian untuk merilis dua buah album. Namun sayang, sebelum album perdana dirilis, Alexandra harus meneruskan pendidikannya di Hongkong. Kedudukan Alexandra lalu digantikan oleh Widyastuti Ariani (Widy). Setelah melalui perjalanan panjang akhirnya Album pertama Cherry Bombshell beredar dengan judul album "Waktu Hijau Dulu". Album perdana Cherry Bombshell Berisi 12 buah lagu dengan lagu andalan berjudul "Langkah Peri" (yang dibuat video klip). Dengan aliran musik "heavy Pop", lagu-lagu Cherry Bombshel berjudul Anti Adas, Langkah Peri, Lahar, Bacar, Flowing Marjans, Tuduh, Memar, Kura-Kura Dalam Perahu, Sesal, Bintang, Lepas, dan Waktu Hijau Dulu. Album perdana Cherry Bombshell diberi judul "Waktu Hijau Dulu" karena setelah berada pada posisi seperti sekarang yang telah mamiliki album, video klip, dan penggemar setia, para personel Cherry Bombshell ingin mengingat kembali masa-masa dulu ketika mereka pertama kali bertemu dan sepakat untuk mendirikan band yang berkelas, yaitu "Cherry Bombshell". Pada tahun 2000 Cherry Bombshell telah melempar album yang ke-2 ke pasaran. Namun ada nafas baru dalam album baru CB ini, karena posisi Ebi sebagai pemukul drum digantikan oleh Wisnu Kuncoro Djati (Coro). Pada beberapa saat lalu Ebi mengalami kecelakaan, dan kini keadaanya sudah baik. Namun Ebi merasa bahwa kemampuannya dalam mengimbangi CB tidak seperti dahulu ketika sebelum mengalami kecelakaan. Untuk itu Ebi mengundurkan diri untuk keluar. Album CB ini berjudul LUKA YANG DALAM. Dalam Album ke 2 terdapat lagu- lagu yang berjudul : Biar, luka, Hujan, Susan, Mentari, Dunia, Rapuh, Harap, Terhempas Hilang, dan Mati Rasa. Kini Cherry Bombshell sedang menyiapkan rencana untuk pembuatan Album ke-3 yang diberi judul "Jalan Masih Panjang". Materi lagu sudah siap untuk satu album, dan telah direkam dalam bentuk demo cd. Dengan judul-judul lagu : Kesepian Semu, Satu di antara Seribu, Cahaya di dalam Jiwa, Awan Hitam menyelimuti, Jalan Masih Panjang, Purnama Kelam, Mengenang Masa, Ku Takkan tenggelam, Bukan Milikku, Kerinduan Hilang, Mengejar Angin, Bintang Terang, dan Kemarau di Hatiku. Untuk di album ke-3 ada pengurangan dan perubahan formasi personel tetap dari Cherry Bombshell, hal ini karena Ajo, Widi, dan Ajie telah keluar dari Cherry Bombshell.

Formasi tetap Cherry Bombshell yang sekarang yaitu : Agung Pecunk (Bass),dan Dwi Esti nuraini(vokal). Dan sementara ini pada posisi Gitar diisi oleh dan orang Additional player yaitu Tigos dan Ari Black , dan Wisnu Coro (drum)
